Most people in the MDA community will recognize 8-year-old Reagan Imhoff right away from her unforgettable butterfly-themed dance performance at the 2012 MDA Show of Strength Telethon. That performance was only the beginning of her time in the MDA spotlight, however, as now Reagan, who has type 2 spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), is taking on the role of 2014 National Goodwill Ambassador.

A social butterfly herself, Reagan is always ready to meet new people and spread the MDA message. “I don’t think she’s ever said no to anything,” says Jenny Imhoff, Reagan’s mother. “She takes [the ambassadorship] very seriously. She understands because she’s been living with [SMA] her entire life. Rarely do you see her complain, and she always puts on that big smile, and for that we’re super proud.”
