Telethon 2010 pulls out all the stops in a winning show
From the moment the 2010 Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon began, the spotlight was on Jerry’s Kids.
For the first time ever, the Telethon was opened by a child, MDA National Goodwill Ambassador Abbey Umali. Backed by a dynamic new Telethon set, 11-year-old Abbey began with a warm welcome and an enthusiastic appeal for viewers to donate — and the phones lit up.
At the end of the 21½-hour marathon show at the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa in Las Vegas, there were several very tired co-hosts and one very tired star, but all were wreathed in smiles.

2009 ushers in role changes for MDA's Dynamic Duo
Upon first seeing Billy Gilman and Luke Christie together, it’s impossible not to notice their special brand of camaraderie.
They ham it up, casting one-liners off each others’ remarks, their rapport and comedic timing guaranteed to get a laugh. Through their work for MDA, they’ve formed a bond of friendship, and more. In so many ways, they both enthuse, they’re like brothers.
