Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

VITA offers free tax assistance to low- and moderate-income (usually $40,000 and below) people who cannot prepare their own tax returns. Certified volunteers sponsored by assorted organizations across the country help prepare basic returns, and most locations also offer free electronic filing.
